The Woodcraft Guild January 7th meeting will be a “Color and Texture” Demonstration by Tracy Casselman. Tracy is an accomplished Woodturner who is one of the newest guild members. Tracy latest focus has been using texturing tools and color to make unique tops on the lathe in the Bonnie Klein Tradition. This Demonstration will be an excellent introduction for beginners who what simple projects that make great gifts. Intermediate and accomplished woodturners will love Tracy’s introduction to texturing pieces and adding color to enhance all types of woodworking. Plan to attend this demo you are sure to learn something new.
Meeting Events:
• Raffle — As always will be having our raffle and we encourage you to bring items for the raffle that you would be willing to donate to the guild. This is an important fundraiser that helps acquire the equipment we need to provide Demonstrations
• Instant Gallery – Please bring your latest woodworking project and enter it in our instant gallery. Guild members are encouraged to bring items and share the “lessons learned” for the item that they have submitted for the Gold Level Instant Gallery. Beginners and new woodturners are encouraged to bring their projects as well and enter them in our Silver Level Gallery. Prizes for both categories are given at each meeting.
• Members Challenge — Members don’t forget the Challenge: “Turn a Bowl for the Guild” We have been using cans and cardboard boxes for the raffle and voting for the instant gallery items. Please turn a bowl that you would be willing to donate to the Guild for meeting use. Of course non-members are encouraged to sign up as a member and meet this month’s challenge item.

Location Details: Eastern Idaho Technical College Building # 2 Room 207A. If you turn off of 17th Street going North between Pier 1 imports and Burger King onto Ashment then right (east) between the old Ponderosa Paint and the LDS institute building you will see building #2 on your left. It is a brick building with rounded corners. There is an outside door to the room we will be using and it will be propped open.
